Outlook Calendar + macOS

Make Outlook meetings impossible to overlook on Mac.

Can’t Miss turns selected Outlook calendar events into full-screen meeting reminders on the active Mac display. Teams, Zoom, Meet, and Webex links are ready to open when recognized in the invitation.

Personal and work calendars

Connect Outlook.com or an eligible Microsoft work or school account directly, including readable shared calendars, or use Exchange and Microsoft calendars already available through Apple Calendar.

How Outlook Calendar access works

The direct connection uses Microsoft’s system-browser sign-in and delegated read-only Microsoft Graph permissions. Can’t Miss requests basic profile access so it can label the connected account, plus permission to read your calendars and readable shared calendars.

The refresh token is stored in macOS Keychain, event processing happens locally, and calendar or meeting contents never enter the Can’t Miss licensing service. Some managed organizations restrict third-party calendar consent; in that case, a Microsoft 365 administrator may need to approve the connection.

Set up Outlook meeting reminders on Mac

  1. Install and open Can’t Miss. Complete the short privacy explanation and calendar setup from the menu-bar app.
  2. Open Settings → Calendars → Accounts. Select Outlook Calendar for a direct Microsoft connection.
  3. Sign in through Microsoft. Use a personal Outlook.com account or an eligible work or school account and approve the requested read-only calendar permissions.
  4. Select the calendars that should alert. Keep important work, project, and shared calendars enabled while leaving informational calendars quiet.
  5. Set timing and eligibility. Choose a lead time and decide whether every timed event or only meeting-like events should interrupt you.
  6. Test the presentation. A test alert verifies the display behavior without consuming a free reminder.

Microsoft Teams reminders with one-click joining

Outlook invitations commonly contain Teams links, but external organizers may send Zoom, Google Meet, or Webex URLs. Can’t Miss looks for recognized HTTPS links in the event URL, location, and notes. When one is present, the full-screen alert includes a Join button.

The meeting still opens through the Mac’s normal URL handling. Can’t Miss does not host, proxy, or observe the call.

Useful controls for a busy Outlook calendar

Shared-calendar support

Direct Microsoft access can read shared calendars when the account and organization allow it.

Declined means quiet

Explicitly declined, canceled, ended, and all-day events are excluded from alerts.

Meeting-like filtering

Require another attendee or a recognized video link when you do not want every timed block to interrupt.

Local selection

Calendar choices, alert timing, exclusions, and event processing remain on the Mac.

Does Can’t Miss modify Outlook?

No. Can’t Miss reads calendars and upcoming events. It does not create, edit, accept, decline, move, or delete Outlook events. If permissions are revoked, provider throttling occurs, or an administrator blocks access, direct sync pauses and the account may require reconnection.
